Mission of the Position:

The Director off Shared Services is responsible for directing the general accounting and finance functions, vendor/partner/customer financial and contractual oversight, Supporting the hotels' executive team with key financial information and operational analytics, analysis of hotels' performance and communication of results Essential Functions: (not inclusive of all of the responsibilities).

1. Responsible for all inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, balance sheet management, treasury management, budgeting and forecasting, tax and compliance.

  • Elaboration of Cash Flows
  • Weekly Forecasts
  • Balance Sheet Revision
  • P&L Revision

 2. Lead monthly close process to issue timely (monthly, quarterly, annual) and complete financial statements

  • General Ledger Accounts Reconciliation
  • Banking Reconciliation
  • Taxes Reconciliation
  • Accuracy of Financial Information

3. Assist with presentations of financial reports to hotels executive team and Area Controller

  • Business Reviews
  • Corporate Reports
  • Owners Financial Reports

 4. Work with Area Controller to understand reporting needs, develop financial report formats and present financial reports and analysis

 5. Establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of internal control systems in order to ensure accurate accounting records and for compliance with the requirements of Melia Hotels International Standards

  • Cost Controlling / Purchasing Supervision

 6. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

 7. Review, make recommendations/negotiate and provide initial approval of financial arrangements, agreements and contracts with all corporate partners/vendors/suppliers; customers (as required)

 8. Preparation and administration of the operating budget aand improvement program budget

 9.Lead, manage and coach Shared Service Department direct reports; establish training plans and goals for growth and development.

  • Availability for moderate travel.

Education:

Bachelor Bachelor in Business Administration

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 -5 year of experience as Finance & Administration Shared Service at Finance & Administration Hotel

Language:

  • Able to communicate in English both verbal and written.
  • Spanish is a plus
